Music to feed my soul.

I am sure I have said it before but it’s true, I cannot play an instrument and probably can’t carry a tune to save my life….. yet music speaks to me profoundly and it never ceases to amaze me how pivotal a role it plays in my memories:

The Elvis tunes that woke us up far too early on Saturday mornings!

Making up lyrics to a well known tune of the time and laughing our asses off! Mel you know I’m talking about you!

54-40 rehearsed repeatedly in a basement. my only real groupie experience

Pretty much anything MC had playing…. except The Tragically Hip yeah, yeah I know. fellow Canadians may hang their heads and shake them in disbelief now

Tubthumping. *shudders from the onslaught of pleasant and horrid memories*

The one that was playing when I kissed the guy in the bathroom of that bar that time….okay, I really only remember the guy….also that it felt more 50 Shades elevator than gross this is a bathroom at the time 😉

Driving fast with the windows down with no real destination in mind.

Metallica playing loudly and tiny kicks in rhythm from the soon-to-be-born boy.

I wonder if I will still feel the same about these songs in another 10 years?
